Your blog is lovely and I must say, even though you could make a career out of it, I\u2019m very glad you\u2019re not a Feminist emo writer.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

I can’t. There are so many personal stories I would love to be able to tell. But I would hurt so many people if I did.<\/p>\n

That is something we rarely see addressed in feminist confessional writing: the aftermath and those who are hurt by the stories. Namely, people who would be dragged into my stories even if they had nothing to do with them, like my brother or my husband. None of them deserve to deal with questions and with possible rumors or even mean spirited comments because I am “crazy” or because I went through this or that experience. Unlike many proponents of the confessional genre, I do not see myself in isolation from the people I care about. I know my words might also carry consequences for their lives.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
