What I find extremely amusing in this “rich libertarians are going to experiment what it is like being rich away from everyone else while they have none of the social responsibilities<\/em>” fantasyland that they wish to create is that they will still utilize and need existing infrastructure to build it. So, in a way, they will use “our” collective resources to bring this monstrosity to life. Because I doubt any of these well educated Unabomber wannabes will be collecting flotsam to build these islands. You think their ideology and end goals are THAT different from the Unabomber? They dress better and at least spare us the obvious violence but that’s because they have the means to exercise violence in a less bombastic way but the Unabomber’s cabin and these islands they hope to move into are built on the same paradigm, that of a complete disdain for collective social obligations.<\/p>\n

And wait till one of them gets sick and needs complex healthcare. Their Miami Vice style boats won’t be fast enough to bring them back to our “barbarian and unfair” civilization.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
