The \u201cscientific community\u201d answered with the 21st century equivalent \u201chysteria\u201d. I should not worry my little head because it is just\u2026 stress related.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>From the <a href=\"https:\/\/health.clevelandclinic.org\/will-a-covid-19-vaccine-throw-your-period-off\/\">Cleveland Clinic site <\/a>(and I am only using this one as an example, since the same response has been repeated in every other health related site, in multiple languages even)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>While women across the country have noticed changes in their periods shortly after vaccination, there currently is no concrete evidence that COVID-19 vaccines can have a direct effect on women\u2019s menstrual cycles. Instead, these changes may be associated with the body\u2019s response to stress.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>Let me break down the \u201cscientific method\u201d employed here:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>\u201dwomen across the country noticed\u201d<\/li><li>what shall we do now&#8230;.there is no evidence!<\/li><li>ah, it\u2019s just\u2026 stress<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Obviously, the replication of an old epistemic model: self reporting is not treated as evidence but, even worse, self reporting is not considered worthy of further investigation. Instead, the response is to ascribe the symptoms to some vague, unmeasurable reason such as \u201cstress\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/wellcomecollection.org\/articles\/W89GZBIAAN4yz1hQ\">Hysteria:<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>the physical manifestations of hysteria were not a result of nerves or disorders in the physical body.
