To add a bit more depth to my statement of why the UAE is the least favorite place I’ve spent considerable time at, I’ll tell you more. When I stopped working there (quitting would be an understatement) government money (through a government funded Foundation) was going to be used to pay me to help a team of people cover up a case of torture that had broken all over international media. The case was such that there was a video of the person being tortured by a very high ranking person in the country.<\/p>\n

I couldn’t work towards covering that up, so I stopped working for these people. Because I might know how to use media in a savvy way but I’ll be damned if I will ever get paid to cover up the very same shit I work on my spare time to uncover.<\/p>\n

But yeah, my western, imperialist, white ways prevent me from seeing any good in torture sessions where some poor guy had electricity applied to his balls while the whole ordeal was documented on video.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
