It seems the women being focused on in this article are touted for not appearing\u00a0monolithic, they all have distinct styles with their\u00a0productions, all very different from each other, and none of them seem to ascribe to what you are describing as &ldquo;female friendly porn&rdquo; (which I agree is what most people think of when they hear the phrase), in fact, I think they are trying to bust that stereotype as well. A good analogy was given in the article regarding the &ldquo;sex toy revolution&rdquo; and how it&rsquo;s not just &ldquo;huge cucumbers&rdquo; anymore, now there are many other options in toys for women to seek pleasure with however they&rsquo;d like to as individuals. And I think the porn &ldquo;revolution&rdquo; is trying to mirror that. It seems to be less about pandering to what is passing for &ldquo;female friendly&rdquo; porn, and more towards including more varied ideas of what constitute female sexuality.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Eh, I didn&rsquo;t make myself clear (what&rsquo;s new?!). I wasn&rsquo;t talking about the women in this article but about the phenomenon of &ldquo;women friendly porn&rdquo; in general. I know one producer here in Amsterdam and yes, she is trying to defy the stereotypes but even she sometimes finds herself trapped in the &ldquo;soft lighting&rdquo; nonsense.<\/p>\n<p>I also know Erica Lust (part of the article at the Guardian). We are even Twitter friends (which you know, is the closest to an internet friendship one can get) and I have seen at least one of her productions and I wasn&rsquo;t &ldquo;thrilled&rdquo; (through lack of a better or SFW word). And that&rsquo;s what I was trying to elaborate on in my initial commentary: how there is so little to cover the whole spectrum of female desire. I certainly celebrate Lust&rsquo;s attempts but I also hope they are not treated as the <em>only<\/em> kind of porn aimed at women.
