\nWell, I don\u2019t consider myself not one. I\u2019m not a misogynist, so you can dispense with that. I think I\u2019ve done wonders for the feminist movement. I get criticized for a lot of what I write about, but as far as I\u2019m concerned I\u2019m actually standing up and having a look at what goes on in the minds of men, and I have the authority to talk about it because I\u2019m a man. Women don\u2019t have the authority because they don\u2019t know what goes on in a man\u2019s head, so largely what they say is kind of irrelevant. My songs and stories and books are character-driven, they talk about the way people are and the way men are and women are.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Let me try to get this (although I am a woman so I might get it wrong by virtue of my gender): “Women don\u2019t have the authority because they don\u2019t know what goes on in a man\u2019s head”<\/strong> and then this: “My songs and stories and books are character-driven, they talk about the way people are and the way men are and women are<\/strong>”. So, Nick, you can actually write songs about women’s nature but women do not have the authority to do so because they don’t know what goes on in a man’s head? My delicate lady brain seems unable to process these contradictions.<\/p>\n
