Otherwise I would hesitate to call them people of color, seeing as our North American terms for discussing race aren\u2019t really applicable or relevant outside of our histories.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>According to my (albeit limited) knowledge of Asian languages, the flag is written in Malay. The photo is most likely taken in Malaysia, although it could also be taken in Indonesia (lots of common terms in both languages, I do not enough of them to be able to distinguish). However, one thing is certain: these are not people of color in the same way they would be defined in North American terms.
