The <a href=\"http:\/\/slog.thestranger.com\/slog\/archives\/2010\/03\/11\/high-school-in-mississippi-cancels-prom-to-prevent-lesbian-student-from-bringing-female-date\">story is more or less summarized here<\/a>. Prom was first canceled and then, as a result of public outcry, the school decided to stage a &ldquo;fake prom&rdquo; that Constance was allowed to attend. This &ldquo;fake prom&rdquo; was only attended by a dozen or so other students, mostly those who were deemed &ldquo;unpopular&rdquo; or &ldquo;outcasts&rdquo;. In the meantime, while the &ldquo;fake prom&rdquo; was taking place, the rest of the students held their own &ldquo;prom&rdquo;, free from pesky lesbians and their deviant sexuality.
