After my conversations with Sara Ahmed on Friday, I’ve been thinking a lot about the construction of Dutch womanhood and how it is presented in media. Just out of curiosity, I searched for “Dutch woman” (in Dutch because I wanted the results presented domestically, not in international media) on Google images. And these are the first 50 results. Amid a sea of happy Dutch faces, the “angry Other”.
