And you know what? Making a poor guy already sentenced to death wait until minutes before his execution to do what? To say “lol no” or alternative “lol ok”? That is torture. Sure, it might not involve water boarding or electricity but it’s torture. I cannot possibly imagine anything more despairing, jarring and dehumanizing in the eve of someone’s possible death than to leave them hanging there without resolution.
