As one of the curators of the Politics tag, I would like to suggest that libertarians and Ron Paul would have a larger presence this morning, as their guy (Ron Paul) announced his presidential run this morning. I highlighted one post but obviously some of us had the same idea. As a curator, I can tell you that we take the business of covering politics of both angles very seriously, and promote posts of both sides to the politics tag accordingly.

I also rarely promote opinion posts, unless it is interesting for both sides.

Washington Examiner, one of the curators of the Politics tag on Tumblr about the criteria for which posts get featured.

So, let me get this straight: if opinion pieces are not promoted as a sort of de facto curation policy, then who gets featured? Because unless a specific Tumblr has an entire news organization behind them (pretty much like the Washington Examiner), everything else posted on Tumblr is nothing but opinion pieces.

Or maybe some of the curators prefer to promote an environment of third party quotes instead of one of original content?

For the past decade and a half I have been making all my content available for free (and never behind a paywall) as an ongoing practice of ephemeral publishing. This site is no exception. If you wish to help offset my labor costs, you can donate on Paypal or you can subscribe to Patreon where I will not be putting my posts behind a lock but you'd be helping me continue making this work available for everyone. Thank you.  Follow me on Twitter for new post updates.
