Oh yes, the infamous New York Times rape apologia article. Funny thing is that I had posted about the case and a very similar rhetoric (victim blaming of a child; “what about the poor boys”, etc.) before it broke in the most mainstream media. It’s chilling how the NYT picked the story and repeated the exact same narrative that the smaller, local newspaper had already presented.
It’s one of the saddest and most terrible cases I’ve read this year so far.
