So far, 2011 has not been a banner year for Fox News. At one point considered a go-to destination for many conservatives, other networks (alongside some occasional criticism) have started to whittle away at the network – and all this is happening while some of its competitors rise.
Overall, the network as a whole is down 21% in its first quarter versus where it was at this point a year ago – and much of that can be attributed to the 30% decline in Glenn Beck’s viewership. Greta Van Susteren, meanwhile, is down nearly 23%, while Sean Hannity has seen a drop of 19%.
While these numbers do not in any way destroy Fox News’ status as the top-rated cable news channel, both CNN (up a whopping 28%) and MSNBC (up 9%) are closing in slightly.

Knowing how people like Beck or Hannity operate, I don’t think they will go down without a fight. I expect to see an increase in confrontation, outlandish claims and overall animosity. Because we have already seen they do not take on reason and well constructed debate very well.
