Misinformation in 2010 US campaign, key findings
I created a screen capture because the text formatting when I attempted to copy paste the key findings from the study got ugly. Anyways, World Public Opinion, a project managed by the program of International Policy Attitudes at the University of Maryland, released an extensive study on misinformation during the 2010 elections campaign in the US, Voters Say Election Full of Misleading and False Information. Full PDF with the study can be downloaded at the link. From the intro to the study:
Equally significant, the poll found strong evidence that voters were substantially misinformed on many of the key issues of the campaign. Such misinformation was correlated with how people voted and their exposure to various news sources.
