According to reports, a Miami installment of Bravo’s Housewives franchise—which has already completed filming—will include Elaine Lancaster. And while actually a man, Elaine’s look (wigs, caked-on makeup, Chanel bags, etc.) isn’t all that different from previous Housewives.
I have already posted extensively on Jezebel’s ingrained racism and have pointed specifically at Tracie as the most frequent offender. So now, we can add transphobia to her list of insults. Any serious media outlet would control her discriminatory language and rhetoric. On Jezebel, instead, it is encouraged in the name of page views. Tracie needs to remind us that, regardless of someone’s gender, this person is a man. Not a legitimate woman deserving of being called a “housewife”. No sir, Tracie Egan Morrisey will out your real gender.
