A sea of beige
Why do all the NY Fashion Week posts on Jezebel feature so much beige? Wasn’t there anything more, I don’t know, lively? The majority of the clothes they have posted so far are so plain that they almost look H&M ready (as in ready to be copied and made available to the wider market). I wonder if that’s editors’ preferences or a sign of what’s to come.
Also (yes, I am in a bitchy mode), those posts about Fashion Night Out yesterday? I felt it was reporting about nothingness. A first person account of the impossibility to actually attend any event. What exactly is the value of such pieces? Especially, considering the latest figures about Gawker Media being bigger in terms of page views and visitors than all newspapers combined (except for The New York Times). Is that supposed to be the future of journalism?
For the past decade and a half I have been making all my content available for free (and never behind a paywall) as an ongoing practice of ephemeral publishing. This site is no exception. If you wish to help offset my labor costs, you can donate on Paypal or you can subscribe to Patreon where I will not be putting my posts behind a lock but you'd be helping me continue making this work available for everyone.
