The Ramones – “Blitzkrieg Bop” (Live) Studio Hamburg

March 1996. I had good hearing back then. From both ears to boot. It was glorious. I was also very much into The Ramones (still am, as a matter of fact). So much so, that I went to see them live at what turned to be their last concert: Adios Ramones, with Iggy Pop as opening act, in River Plate Stadium, Buenos Aires. I was such a fan girl that I ran all the way to the front of the stage, elbowing my way through older punks, their children and some teens. The music was so loud and so powerful that at a certain point, my left ear sort of popped. I could hear nothing but a loud beep. From that evening onwards, my hearing has never been the same (a couple of doctors suggested I should consider hearing aids… totally out of the question for someone as youthful as me, ok?). I do not regret the trade off one bit. I saw them live multiple times. I saw them live the last time they performed. Is there anything to regret?
