- Be wealthy,
- in a community with easy access to organic foods,
- with enough time to shop every day (so your constantly perishable food doesn’t sit in the fridge for more than a day or two),
- and enough time to prepare things from fully raw ingredients,
- and never, ever be frustrated with your lot in life,
- even if it’s full of systemic oppression.
CELTIC SEA SALT? Ugh, whatever.
Who wrote this list? Gwyneth Paltrow? It’s healthy, sure, but this is the honkiest advice I’ve ever read.
“Natural light” will give you cancer.
It’s also a shitty beer.
Some Dr. Weston A. Price, a Cleveland dentist seems to be the source of this quackery.
Make sure to look at the photos that go with this captions “The photographs of Dr. Weston Price illustrate the difference in facial structure between those on native diets and those whose parents had adopted the "civilised” diets of devitalised processed foods.[…] The “primitive” Seminole girl (left) has a wide, handsome face with plenty of room for the dental arches. The “modernised” Seminole girl (right) born to parents who had abandoned their traditional diets, has a narrowed face, crowded teeth, and a reduced immunity to disease“.
Edited to Add: How can I leave this quote out from their website: ”The book contains striking photographs of handsome, healthy primitives and illustrates in an unforgettable way the physical degeneration that occurs when human groups abandon nourishing traditional diets in favour of modern convenience foods“. Handsome, healthy primitives. This language still occurs in the 21st century?!
