Sisterly love

I just got an SMS from the Chicago Marathon runner’s tracking service letting me know that my brother had done the first ten km in 58 minutes. After following MoGlo’s preparations and trainings for the marathon for a few weeks, I was really surprised last night when I got a call from my brother to tell me he was running it. He lives in Sao Paulo but he flew specifically to run this one (not his first marathon and most likely, hopefully, not his last one).

So now, I am sitting in my Amsterdam terrace, listening to music and following the updates of his running in Chicago via my phone. Pretty cool. And makes me realize how much I miss him.

For the past decade and a half I have been making all my content available for free (and never behind a paywall) as an ongoing practice of ephemeral publishing. This site is no exception. If you wish to help offset my labor costs, you can donate on Paypal or you can subscribe to Patreon where I will not be putting my posts behind a lock but you'd be helping me continue making this work available for everyone. Thank you.  Follow me on Twitter for new post updates.
