14kgoldnyc replied to your post: The ethics of care

I actually interpret that phrase quite differently—not in the sense of “we’re all in this together,” but rather “no man is an island,” i.e. every individual is dependent on other individuals… without any aspect of proscribing who those others are.

I agree with you 100%, I was trying to articulate how the concept that you mention can be reconciled with the tribalism we see operating right now. More often than not, this is a White, cis, middle/upper class kind of affiliation through professional networks. And how for as long as these professional networks are seen as more valuable than an ethical practice, these ethics of care would be pretty much inapplicable.

For the past decade and a half I have been making all my content available for free (and never behind a paywall) as an ongoing practice of ephemeral publishing. This site is no exception. If you wish to help offset my labor costs, you can donate on Paypal or you can subscribe to Patreon where I will not be putting my posts behind a lock but you'd be helping me continue making this work available for everyone. Thank you.  Follow me on Twitter for new post updates.
