And speaking about Dutch media, here’s an example of the kind of stuff our advertising geniuses produce. I don’t watch much commercial TV (I tend to DVR stuff and when I’m watching live TV, it’s mostly BBC) so I had missed this gem, which my friend Mieke sent me yesterday.

The add is for a chocolate/ hazelnut spread, Duo Penotti. It features a trifecta of racist horror: dancing Mammy, black face and objectification of Black people. It was directed by Dutch filmmaker Billy Pols.
