Christ no offense
But the word “privilege” seems almost like a new in-vogue word. I’m really sick of people talking about, “I recognize my privilege.” I get it dude. It doesn’t have to be constant.
Some people are young and finding their voice. It doesn’t bother me because you know, I am an old and it took me a long time to take certain rhetoric as natural and not have to repeat it all the time because OMG I FINALLY UNDERSTAND AND HAVE WORDS TO DEFINE WHAT I FEEL AND BELIEVE IN. Had you met 16 year old me, you would have probably rolled your eyes so hard that you would have gotten a headache.
Tumblr caters to a very young demographic. I have 14 year old followers. They warm my cold hardened heart every time they get it, no matter how many times they repeat a concept. Because at the end of the day, they are not repeating themselves to me, they are repeating themselves because they are trying to find the way to express how they perceive their place in the world and what they want to do about it. And that is a good thing.
For the past decade and a half I have been making all my content available for free (and never behind a paywall) as an ongoing practice of ephemeral publishing. This site is no exception. If you wish to help offset my labor costs, you can donate on Paypal or you can subscribe to Patreon where I will not be putting my posts behind a lock but you'd be helping me continue making this work available for everyone. Thank you. Follow me on Twitter for new post updates.
