Christian Louboutin’s amusing sources of inspiration
By now you might have seen Christian Louboutin’s latest creation: the spike heel ballet shoes. You know, these:
He says of his design, which was made to help raise money for the English National Ballet:
“I could not help being inspired by English National Ballet – after all – isn’t the classical dancing ballet slipper the ultimate heel?”
Except that, for years, Fetish enthusiasts have been creating and selling the exact same type of shoes, only without the thousands of dollars price tag. Stuff like this:

Just check Google images for “7 inch spike heel ballet shoes” and you’ll be amazed at how many “sources of inspiration” are out there. But I guess if one is clever enough to cover the same design in Swaroski crystals, they can then be sold at an art auction for a good cause.
