Context. Again, it is missing
See, yesterday I wrote a brief entry about the Fry debacle. It seems it got some traction while I was away because this morning I found two distinctive things: a) my traffic had peaked in ways I wasn’t anticipating for such a brief post and b) there were many mentions of my Twitter name thrown around.
Of all the mentions, this is the one that amused me the most, namely because of how it misses the point entirely. I “blamed” feminists for Fry’s statement? Uh? Where exactly did I do that? Also, a good lesson learned in this: next time I see someone quoted I will think twice about the context of that quote and wonder if this is exactly what the person meant. Not that I wasn’t doing it already, but it is quite amusing/ annoying now that it happened to me.
For the past decade and a half I have been making all my content available for free (and never behind a paywall) as an ongoing practice of ephemeral publishing. This site is no exception. If you wish to help offset my labor costs, you can donate on Paypal or you can subscribe to Patreon where I will not be putting my posts behind a lock but you'd be helping me continue making this work available for everyone. Thank you. Follow me on Twitter for new post updates.
