Do you have a favorite dessert? Favorite desert?

Favorite dessert? Yes! Flan. Although this comes as a close second:

It’s an Argentinian abomination called Mil Hojas (A thousand sheets). It takes its name from the layers of puff pastry, one on top of another, laced with dulce de leche in between. Dulce de Leche is yet another South American confection (made with milk slow cooked with sugar, although you can buy it ready to eat in glass jars at every supermarket and grocery store). Dulce de Leche, to us Argentinians, is like fuel to cars. We cannot function without it.

Favorite Desert: Atacama, in Chile.

For the past decade and a half I have been making all my content available for free (and never behind a paywall) as an ongoing practice of ephemeral publishing. This site is no exception. If you wish to help offset my labor costs, you can donate on Paypal or you can subscribe to Patreon where I will not be putting my posts behind a lock but you'd be helping me continue making this work available for everyone. Thank you.  Follow me on Twitter for new post updates.
