I will be at (er, somewhat near) the other pole in February-March of next year if all goes as planned, cruising around the Antarctic in the name of science! We can Tumbl from the opposite polar regions annnd I am a nerd.

OH MY. You know I am Argentinian! The Antarctic carries a strong weight in our country’s markup. Actually, I would LOVE to go to the Antarctic but sadly, I cannot afford it. A one week trip leaving Ushuaia (the Southern City in our country) runs at thousands of Euros (last time I checked, something like 7,000 for the more affordable trip) and honestly, I cannot spend that kind of money on a one week leisure trip. It’s the equivalent to a downpayment on a piece of land, you know. As a matter of fact, the vast majority of Argentinians cannot afford to go there. The cruise ships that leave are populated by Europeans and North Americans. I’ve been looking into going since I am a teenager but it’ll be one of those things I’ll continue looking from afar.

The Arctic trip we are considering is by no means “cheap”, but it is something I can afford and consider, though, at a fraction of the Antarctic equivalent. And yes, WE WILL TUMBL FROM OPPOSITE SIDES OF THE PLANET!
