I just discovered a new internet emotion: I want to share this with everyone but I can’t personally send it to them; characterized by the cognitive dissonance arising from wanting to share something that is either hilarious or horrifying (or both at the same time) concomitant with the pride, shame and eventual jaded let-down of realizing you’ve been on the internet for way, the fuck, too long.
Someone discovered the secret to Tumblr’s success?
Incidentally and for those with a penchant for truly bizarre story telling, the comment was triggered when the person read this. Even I have been rendered speechless.
I think I am going to change my email signature to “That’s because you are blind now, Mildred”.
For the past decade and a half I have been making all my content available for free (and never behind a paywall) as an ongoing practice of ephemeral publishing. This site is no exception. If you wish to help offset my labor costs, you can donate on Paypal or you can subscribe to Patreon where I will not be putting my posts behind a lock but you'd be helping me continue making this work available for everyone. Thank you. Follow me on Twitter for new post updates.
