It says source: redlightpolitics. Do you mean your own indication of where you got it from?

Yes. I usually add “Found via” or the name of the site where it was originally posted from.

I know I probably come across as overly annoying with this “keeping the source” mentality, but I see it as interconnected with corporate claims that the internet is some wild and lawless space that demands special regulations because we are out to “steal” from news orgs. If we are not zealous in applying standards of attribution, we open the door for the preachers against net neutrality and all kinds of ugly and potentially dangerous controls (dangerous for the cuts in freedom they would imply for independent bloggers and non corporate sources).

I am not zealous because I want “my stuff” preserved. As I said in the post about “blogging etiquette”, I couldn’t give a damn about it, but I feel very strongly about attribution and not opening the door to further copyright restrictions.

For the past decade and a half I have been making all my content available for free (and never behind a paywall) as an ongoing practice of ephemeral publishing. This site is no exception. If you wish to help offset my labor costs, you can donate on Paypal or you can subscribe to Patreon where I will not be putting my posts behind a lock but you'd be helping me continue making this work available for everyone. Thank you.  Follow me on Twitter for new post updates.
