kynodontas replied to your post: that reminds me!

hm, how do you mean by not having “space”? and no, i didn’t know that! i’ve met koreans from argentina, but i never thought about how large the community has grown. i automatically think about the kor comm in brazil for south am kor comms.

What I mean about space is both the size of my kitchen counters/ space and the lack of appropriate containers AND storage space to hold the kimchi. All in all, not a very winning combo.

The Korean community in Argentina is large and financially influential. They are very involved in the textile manufacturing and trading industries.

Also, in communities most people do not associate to South America: our Chinese community is also very visible, important (both in amounts of people and their involvement in trading and just life in the country). I read the other day a report that Argentina was the largest country (percentage wise, with regards to population figures) of students of Chinese language. So much so, that the Embassy is promoting courses and opening language centers because the demand increases on a yearly basis.
