If you e-mail me your theme code I can try to pick out where the problem is.

I really appreciate the offer (also thanks to whatfreshhellisthis for a similar one earlier on). The problem is that it is a premium Tumblr theme and if I touch the html (which I know quite well how to code myself), I loose the automatic theme updates (bug fixes, for instance) that are pushed by the author. If the original html is modified in any way, it overrides the updates and you miss them. That is the basis of my problem, in a nutshell.
