My grandmother’s rule needs some updating. She always used to say “Make sure your underwear and socks are clean so that if you have an accident in public, you are not embarrassed when people see them”. Probably my addendum would include: and make sure your web browser and Google search terms histories, or your tracked Twitter tags do not make you look like a fool or an asshole in case of sudden death.
