Precisely
eldn:
I think that is quite problematic, I’m not a feminist, but this is because feminists have the blood of my trans sisters on their hands by lobbying to deny us health care, by turning away battered trans women from domestic violence shelters because cis women might be made to feel uncomfortable by simply having to recognise our existence as women.
I’m of the opinion that feminism is only cares for a very certain type of woman; one that is white, well-off, able-bodied, cis, monosexual, vanilla, etc.
And that is precisely why in my original post I said “women of certain wealth and privilege”.
To what eldn said about transwomen I would add women of color, minorities, women from nations usually referred to as Third World, indigenous women, etc. However, the kind I was referring to in my post is a pretty special type: always cisgendered, white, of several intersecting privileges (like the writer of that piece in The Telegraph I posted earlier today and who triggered my rant in the first place).
For the past decade and a half I have been making all my content available for free (and never behind a paywall) as an ongoing practice of ephemeral publishing. This site is no exception. If you wish to help offset my labor costs, you can donate on Paypal or you can subscribe to Patreon where I will not be putting my posts behind a lock but you'd be helping me continue making this work available for everyone. Thank you. Follow me on Twitter for new post updates.
