I am aware this is not a “popular feature” in that it’s a kind of killjoy because people are directly confronted with daily body counts as a result of State policies. However, I believe it is important that we are reminded of the consequences of said policies. I give talks regularly and participate in panel discussions or debates and it always surprises me how easy it is to discuss these issues in abstract terms (i.e. “policies have deadly results” for instance) but as soon as the abstraction is removed and there are names and bodies attached to the results of those policies, the discussion(s) take a turn to the uncomfortable.
So, this is a small effort to actually remove the abstraction and point to our collective responsibility in those deaths.
