The logic of rape culture
If you, or anyone you are somewhat related to is involved in any kind of criminal activity, apparently you cannot be a rape victim. Or so it seems in the Dominique Strauss Khan case, where according to the NYT, all charges are about to be dismissed because the woman has a relationship with a convicted felon and she is suspected of being involved in marihuana sales/ traffic.
You know, rape and any other activity deemed as undesirable are now mutually exclusive. We already heard that one before, only referring to undocumented immigrants, so, the argument seems to be consistent with the dehumanization of certain kinds of women (poor, undocumented, those involved in crimes whether they are convicted or not, etc.).
