The reception at the Argentinian embassy went well last night. Or, let me rephrase that: it went as well as these events can go. Luckily the Ambassador of Bolivia, who is a good friend, was also part of the entourage so I had someone with whom I could chat in a corner (always my favorite spot in crowds of this magnitude). Otherwise I would have felt totally despondent.

Of note: we weren’t made to sing the national anthem. Which, considering I was almost expelled from school for refusing to sing it during dictatorship times, was a relief. Yeah, during those days I had my small (in retrospect totally irrelevant) acts of rebellion. I refused to pray and/ or sing the anthem. Didn’t make me very popular with authority figures. Or my parents, for that matter.

For the past decade and a half I have been making all my content available for free (and never behind a paywall) as an ongoing practice of ephemeral publishing. This site is no exception. If you wish to help offset my labor costs, you can donate on Paypal or you can subscribe to Patreon where I will not be putting my posts behind a lock but you'd be helping me continue making this work available for everyone. Thank you.  Follow me on Twitter for new post updates.
