Although the whole Patronus concept borrows heavily from Spirit Animals, right? Or at least it seems so. Also, ew.
It does indeed. Actually, Harry Potter seems to draw a lot from European style pagan traditions. It’s been a long time since I read Alistair Crowley, but I think some ideas come from his writings. The problem with Crowley is that he was inaccessible and quite honestly, not a likable or socially adjusted individual (my dislike of him is quite high). But he did leave a wealth of Magick related literature that entered pop culture at the time and has been inspiring other writers since.
For the past decade and a half I have been making all my content available for free (and never behind a paywall) as an ongoing practice of ephemeral publishing. This site is no exception. If you wish to help offset my labor costs, you can donate on Paypal or you can subscribe to Patreon where I will not be putting my posts behind a lock but you'd be helping me continue making this work available for everyone. Thank you. Follow me on Twitter for new post updates.
