So do these cultural ideas result in men also working the minimum they have to in order to be comfortable?
Regarding my last post about Dutch women in the workforce, the short answer is Yes, they will work the amount of hours they need but they will not actively seek advancement. As I said in the original post, and I cannot stress this enough: there are exceptions. I wrote about a general cultural expectation that obviously, doesn’t apply to every Dutch man or woman.
And as I also said in my post, the new generations, coming from a more globalized worldview, where they are exposed to other cultural models, are slowly changing as well.
