You know what I find so incredibly heartbreaking about Troy Davis’ possible execution? That this is also a collective punishment and a reminder to everyone of how society regards certain people. This is how the State reminds us all that if you are Black, you are poor, you hang out in public spaces where members of the dominant culture would prefer you were not seen, if you are without resources, then you are simply a disposable body.
Not even the mere pretension of justice will be afforded to you. And that is a very powerful message to send out.
For the past decade and a half I have been making all my content available for free (and never behind a paywall) as an ongoing practice of ephemeral publishing. This site is no exception. If you wish to help offset my labor costs, you can donate on Paypal or you can subscribe to Patreon where I will not be putting my posts behind a lock but you'd be helping me continue making this work available for everyone. Thank you. Follow me on Twitter for new post updates.
