I almost forgot in my last post about organic food, purity and women, I’d like to add the media presence of the “colon cleanse” and the constant peddling of snake oil to rid your body of “dirt” and “toxins”. Words like “expel” and “purify” significantly used in marketing copy for these products. Which, coincidentally, are eerily similar to the White supremacist discourse around undocumented immigrants.
