This can be compared to how an American Indian (SIC) patient was informed of the FDA‘s stance on DP: ―Another thing that you need to know is that this shot is not approved for use for birth control by the FDA, which we think is stupid…. You’re obviously not a beagle dog and you obviously do not get as high a dose as they gave the dogs, but in any case we are obligated to tell you that.

The quote above is taken from the transcripts of a 1985 documentary, The Ultimate Test Animal, about the way non White and poor women were used as test subjects to develop the Depo-Provera contraceptive shot.
