For the past two weeks or so, you’ve seen me rage about the Sinterklaas “tradition” and black face, etc. I elaborated on this yearly celebration and explained how the Saint arrives on a boat with his black face “helpers”.

Behold because fate would have it that one such Saint, while arriving on his boat to the Dutch province of Drenthe, last Thursday, encountered some “logistics” troubles. Of the sinking kind. One can only hope that it is a metaphorical representation for the future of this “tradition” in its current incarnation.

(Nobody got hurt, by the way, just had their ridiculous antics captured on camera).

For the past decade and a half I have been making all my content available for free (and never behind a paywall) as an ongoing practice of ephemeral publishing. This site is no exception. If you wish to help offset my labor costs, you can donate on Paypal or you can subscribe to Patreon where I will not be putting my posts behind a lock but you'd be helping me continue making this work available for everyone. Thank you.  Follow me on Twitter for new post updates.
