fucknojezebel:

Yeah, wearing designer shoes is just like being held against your will, beaten, and forced into labor. Christian Louboutin is a cruel, cruel master!

This comment is like the holocaust.

It is public knowledge that I am a bad, bad feminist because I wear heels and make up (not as often as I’d like because, on top of being a bad feminist, I am first and foremost lazy).

Unrelated to the above, though, but tied to the fact that I also posted about Jezebel and about Galliano earlier, just a brief observation: the comments on the post about Galliano’s collection were mostly disappointing.I lost count of how many called the collection “exquisite” and Galliano a “great talent”, claiming his talent was separate from his failure at humanity. If I recall correctly, this was the site also openly condemning (rightfully so) all artists that came in support of Polanksi during the rape extradition case.

The double standards shocked me. We cannot condemn rape apologia, calling for a boycott of anyone that showed support of Polanski, while calling Galliano’s collection “exquisite”. Both are revolting expressions that deserve the same kind of mockery. Or perhaps I demand too much of critical thinking skills.

For the past decade and a half I have been making all my content available for free (and never behind a paywall) as an ongoing practice of ephemeral publishing. This site is no exception. If you wish to help offset my labor costs, you can donate on Paypal or you can subscribe to Patreon where I will not be putting my posts behind a lock but you'd be helping me continue making this work available for everyone. Thank you.  Follow me on Twitter for new post updates.
