Hello, My name is Stanley with DecorMyEyes.com,” the post began. “I just wanted to let you guys know that the more replies you people post, the more business and the more hits and sales I get. My goal is NEGATIVE advertisement.
New business model, apparently? I thought the motto “Any publicity is good publicity” only applied to celebrities (of a certain kind), maybe writers and perhaps, by a stretch, some politicians. However, as per this New York Times chronicle, DecorMyEyes (an online frames shop) is happy with thousands of bad reviews and hundred of complains filled with ComplaintsBoard.com and ConsumerAffairs.com.
For the past decade and a half I have been making all my content available for free (and never behind a paywall) as an ongoing practice of ephemeral publishing. This site is no exception. If you wish to help offset my labor costs, you can donate on Paypal or you can subscribe to Patreon where I will not be putting my posts behind a lock but you'd be helping me continue making this work available for everyone. Thank you. Follow me on Twitter for new post updates.
