Hello, thank you for the Follow! I really enjoy your excellent blog. We need all the help we can to reach out to people to submit some monologues for our production at Notre Dame. I would like to invite you (and anyone else you may know who would be interested) to submit a monologue. The only two requirements are that it remain between a few sentences to five hundred words, and that they are anonymous. Thank you for your time! :)

I really appreciate the project that you have started and I think it is a very significant one.

However, I have just one observation (an observation and not a criticism!): the anonymity of the monologues makes a lot of sense in the context of the University where this project is developed (University of Notre Dame for people who might not be aware of what this initiative is about). Anonymity ensures that people would not be afraid of negative repercussions among classmates or professors/ teachers if they share their experience. It would also promote a more candid and open writing style to portray racial and ethnic issues.

However, once the project transcends the boundaries of the University and solicits collaborations, people might want to have the option of attaching their name. Especially in a medium like Tumblr where so many writers are struggling to have recognition for the content they produce. There have been many instances where this content has been pretty much appropriated while no credit has been given to the producer. Many are developing ideas and theories of racial and ethnic identity and hardly ever get any broad recognition for this work. So, it would be an extra incentive for those who wish to, to be able to get their name attached to the monologue they contribute.

While there is an indisputable Academic value for the students who participate in this, there is less such value for the Tumblr writers who might be willing to contribute if there was some reward (such as having their name featured) attached to their participation.

For the past decade and a half I have been making all my content available for free (and never behind a paywall) as an ongoing practice of ephemeral publishing. This site is no exception. If you wish to help offset my labor costs, you can donate on Paypal or you can subscribe to Patreon where I will not be putting my posts behind a lock but you'd be helping me continue making this work available for everyone. Thank you.  Follow me on Twitter for new post updates.
