Someone who reblogged my last post about our collective responsibility in the Libyan situation claimed that it was only Europe trading with Gaddafi. As a European resident and taxpayer I am fully aware of the fact that the European Union has a very important degree of responsibility in the perpetuation of Libyan dictatorship.

However, just out of curiosity (and mostly because I wanted to see if I needed to correct my original post), I went to the US Census Bureau site to check the US Trade Balance with Libya. During 2010 alone, this balance turns to be 1.45 billion in favor of Libya.

So yeah, my original point stands: collective responsibility. Ours.

For the past decade and a half I have been making all my content available for free (and never behind a paywall) as an ongoing practice of ephemeral publishing. This site is no exception. If you wish to help offset my labor costs, you can donate on Paypal or you can subscribe to Patreon where I will not be putting my posts behind a lock but you'd be helping me continue making this work available for everyone. Thank you.  Follow me on Twitter for new post updates.
