The Advocate Names Pope Francis ‘Person Of The Year:’ LGBT Magazine Recognizes Pontiff

Things the Pope (back then when he was known by the more pedestrian title of Cardinal Jorge Bergoglio) has said in the not so distant past. All links in Spanish because this is stuff from my bookmarks folder but google translate does a good job to get the gist of the arguments:

* Claimed the only “valid family unit is one with a mother, a father and children”

* Spoke about the “dangers of laws that would allow the manipulation of children’s sexual and gender identity” and clearly stated he was against the gender identity law that gave rights to trans* people.
