Things I’ve always wanted to ask you! Answer you at pleasure and liesure – no need to answer if you don’t wanna. 1) Where were you born? 2) Where did you go to college/university? What did you study? 3) What’s your day job? Do you get to talk/discuss politics and gender and race all of the time, or is tumblr where you blow off the steam (to use a colloquial phrase incorrectly)?

Oh, yes, this is really TMI 🙂

1) I was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

2) I studied something that is called “Filosofia y Letras”, which is a major in humanities, with an orientation in Linguistics (Spanish, to be more specific). I also did studies in theater and playwriting.

3) I have my own small freelancing business. I do marketing and communication strategies, mostly for NGOs and small organizations (also for profit, but have more customers in the NGO sector than in private business). I also give trainings in diversity and inclusiveness in marketing and communication strategies (i.e. how to advertise something without alienating or insulting people).

As for politics, heh, it’s pretty much part of my life. I volunteer a few hours a week at an immigrant center that belongs to the Municipality of Amsterdam. I help women (mostly, although every now and then I get a guy or two) build resumes and apply for jobs. These are people who are just trying to insert themselves in the market so mostly have little or no experience searching for jobs, making a resume, etc.

I also have given race awareness talks for one of the biggest political parties here in The Netherlands (my local chapter, to be more specific) and I am married to the campaign manager for said party for our area of Amsterdam.

This blog started as a result of me trying to have a place where I could place all those topics that occupy much of my life. And also because I articulate thoughts and ideas I get to use later on in talks and debates. That’s why I love Tumblr, I get the kind of feedback I wouldn’t get in other blogging platforms.

Also, if I can (as in, if I continue doing what I am doing), it is my goal to make it to European Parliament as an MP within the next ten years or so. We’ll see… you know how sometimes life gets in the way of intentions.

For the past decade and a half I have been making all my content available for free (and never behind a paywall) as an ongoing practice of ephemeral publishing. This site is no exception. If you wish to help offset my labor costs, you can donate on Paypal or you can subscribe to Patreon where I will not be putting my posts behind a lock but you'd be helping me continue making this work available for everyone. Thank you.  Follow me on Twitter for new post updates.
